This project, part of The Cushman School's Play to Learn capital campaign, built a 24,400-square-foot, two-story multi-purpose building. It houses an indoor gymnasium, a stage and performing arts center, a dance studio, and a rooftop soccer and track field, giving the school a home for events, athletic competitions, and annual traditions — like the 5th-grade Spring Play — that previously had to be held off campus.
The building also supports several of the school's signature programs: the Society and Me (SAM) Challenge, a four-year curriculum where students research global issues and design community-impact projects that culminate in the annual SAMx Showcase; the Young Coders Initiative, a student-founded nonprofit teaching coding to youth through local and international chapters; and the Innovation Center and AI Atelier, maker spaces built around robotics, digital design, and other emerging technology.
